Industrial Timing & Drive Belting

Industrial Timing & Drive Belts

Timing belts are the perfect choice for applications where traditional belt options are unable to provide performance synchronization, and exact product placement. When precise timing is required, Timing and Drive Belts are the best solution. Timing and Drive Belts can be made to your exact dimensional needs, and customized with guides, profiles and covers to ensure your product or component is always in the right place at the right time. Timing and Drive Belts are used throughout most industries in the world, and can be customized from general conveying to linear motion. Are you facing any of the following issues?

  • a decrease in profitability
  • an increase in maintenance cost
  • a decrease in throughput
  • a decrease in productivity

If your answer is “Yes” to any of the above, Terpco can help you.

What if during production, your facility could utilize a belt that is less expensive but has the same performance characteristics you currently rely on? What if this same belt decreased maintenance time on repairs and could be spliced using your existing tools?

Made with Aramide cords embedded in the TPU layer, this belt can navigate small pulleys and help decrease rising replacement
cost. If needed, the TF-100T can be spliced into your existing belt and spliced using your existing tools. We also offer more economically priced, easy to use joining tools.

Features and Benefits

  • Simple & fast joining method : adhesive free joint with uniform belt characteristics
  • High flexibility with Aramide cords embedded in TPU layer : navigates small pulley diameters, low energy consumption
  • Higher modulus of elasticity : consistent throughput and higher safety factor for temporary overloads
  • High dimensional stability and low sensitivity to humidity : no re-tensioning, suitable for long live roller conveyors

Types of Backings

Cellular backings

Cellular rubber foam backings, Elastomeric PUR, Easily compressible

Common applications:

  • Labeling equipment
  • Paper
  • Glass
  • Vacuum conveyors
  • Metal Stamping

Fabric Backings

Polyamide nylon fabric covering – green:

  • /Z: PAZ- reduces coefficent of friction thus reduces noise of tooth engagement, also reduces slider bed friction for conveying
  • /R: PAR- reduces friction on conveyed products which allows for accumulation of goods
  • /D: PAZ+PAR- backing on both sides

PVC Backings

PVC: High coefficient of friction, Good resistance to acid, Available in FDA version

Common Applications:

  • Labeling
  • Packaging
  • Ceramic
  • Glass
  • Paper

PU Backings

PU: Best resistance to abrasion, Available in different shore hardness & thickness, FDA available

Common Applications:

  • Wood
  • Metal Stamping
  • Ceramic
  • Glass

Rubber Backings

Synthetic or natural rubber: High friction coefficient,
High temperature resistance

Common Appications

  • Paper – corrugated box
  • Wood
  • Ceramic
  • Glass
  • Labeling
  • FFS

Special Backings

Available in various materials for special demanding applications

i.e. Teflon:

  • Friction reduction to 0.14
  • Extremely high resistance to chemicals
  • High abrasion resistance
  • resistant to high temperature
  • Excellent for accumulation conveyor

EMF- Elatech Mechanical Fastening

EMF has two applicaions
1. Dual Tooth Belt EMF execution
2. Single Tooth Belt EMF execution

Types:

  • Standard
4-5 pins used for belts under 3500mm length
  • Medium
8 pins is used for belts longer than 3500mm
  • Long
12 pins is used for belts over 7500mm

Easily installed on-site by hands

  • quick installation
  • reduces machine downtime
  • solution to OEMs machine design issues

Suitable for belts with:

  • backing
  • cleats
  • all pitches

Strong enough for most conveying applications, 12 pins matches the strength of welded belt
EMF can run on your existing pulleys with the same minimum pulley requirements as your existing belt and can operate with back bend idlers.
Precise- eliminates gaps seen in competing designs, Quiet – no exposed metal parts

EMF- Elatech False Tooth System

Mechanical profile application designed for fastening cleats. Versatile, allowing customers to attach cleats made of steel, stainless steel, plastic, urethane, wood or virtually any other material Available in following pitches: AT10, ATK10, AT20, H, XH ( with or without V-guide)

1. Offered in zinc-coated or stainless mechanical teeth with either embedded or total tooth design
2. Total tooth design or false tooth design replace the entire tooth of the belt and is secured by 2 threaded holes
3. Embedded tooth system – metal parts are screwed to teeth on the belt eliminating any metal- to-metal contact making it a quieter

Features:

  • More precise than welded due to self-centering on cleat positioning
  • Eliminates welded cleat position tolerances
  • Handles much higher loads than welded cleats
  • Flexible – allows for repositioning of cleats for application changes
  • Economical – replacing the cleats instead of whole belt
